Kitchen Reveal

Whew, it is finally finished :) I have to say that this is one happy family...haha.  Back in April of 2006, we moved into our small little bungalow.  Mr. Adkins had not been accepted into Pharmacy school yet and we did not have Miss B.  Looking back it brings back so many memories as this was and is our first home :)  We are very, very blessed to have this bungalow (Our Church Parsonage) to call "Home".  It is over 40 years old and was my In-laws first home as well...pretty cool, huh?

Here are some pictures of when we first moved in:

(Notice no wall cabinets to the left)

(Refrigerator and stove are in different places)

(No wall cabinets)

We did a small makeover back in 2008 with new paint and wall cabinets.

Then in 2011, we had to do something to the dangerous floor.  The green marble (peel and stick) tile was coming up and with a 2 year old it was not safe!  Soooo, a trip to Lowes we went!  Yay, I was getting a new floor :)

Look how happy she is!!!

  15. we just bought a house, which literally has only a kitchen sink space. The kitchen had been gutted by the previous owner. We are now redoing it all and I have to say I want your kitchen. I like the simple classic nature of it. I do have a few questions. Where did you find your shelves above the stove and the glass jars on the shelf. They are perfect above the stove. I love it! I also love how you the back-splash across all the cabinets. so cute!

  27. Ok so if I hadnt just become your newest follower b/c of your mad sewing skills, I would have just from seeing this kitchen! I LOVE that you've been patient about it, done it little by little as you could afford, and now have the kitchen of your dreams. You're not complaining about anything else needing to be done,etc...
We live in a house built in 1860 thats been in my husbands family since 1969(did you follow all that?:)) Its been remodeled little by little by all of us but teh kitchen is just such a big job to tackle that its still bare bones.
We've actually entered it in an HGTV new show makeover contest and although we rank #5 in kitchens we've heard nothing. Its been at least 6 months and is very frustrating to hear nothing.
We too live on one income at the moment. Our oldest DD is in private school and I homeschool our 5 year old. Hubby is a teacher & coach full time, a beekeeper & balloon artist on the side, and we're youth leaders at our church. DO you get the feeling he doesnt have time or money to tackle the kitchen? Cuz you'd be totally correct on that:)
Praying that someday we're able to upgrade it somehow. I wouldnt even mnind finding cabinets on Craigslist and just painting them to our desired white. I do everything on the thrifty budget so itd be right up my alley. Its just that money thing all around:)
I LOVED your inspiration board and that clock is already on my wish list. Love the oval shape!
Now that Ive written an entire blog post length comment, I'll hop off. But I wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. We seem to have alot in common:)
    Blessings,
    Sarah
